Government Embraces Container Homes in Bermuda's New Affordable Housing Push

In a move to tackle housing shortages, Bermuda's government has officially announced a new initiative to introduce container homes as part of its affordable housing strategy-5.

Minister of Housing Zane DeSilva confirmed that 11 container housing units are set to arrive on the island early next year. The project includes a mix of one and two-bedroom capsule units and larger expandable container homes offering two and three-bedroom configurations-5. Minister DeSilva expressed strong confidence in modern building methods, stating, "With technology today and expertise today, different building methods are being used all over the world.
